EFFECTIVE TEAMS
Very few people work alone. The interaction and cooperation of people working together is key to successful business. It is important to have a framework within which each person understands their tasks, responsibility and freedom to act. It is equally vital for each person to understand the purpose of the team, to know they are valued for their participation, and to know that they have a voice which will be heard.

How do we coach a team

  • We start by meeting all the team, and possibly shadowing you in team meetings.
  • Using simple “profile” tools to assess the styles of the team members. Feeding back to the team on the possible impact of their styles.
  • Helping to uncover how the team functions together. The strengths and weaknesses of the team.
  • Using a structured approach to help create shared goals, targets and actions for the team. This includes creating “ways of working” together and creating effective meetings.
  • Opening up the conversation on how the team interacts with those outside it. This may include customers, suppliers and other internal departments. How does the energy flow across these boundaries?

When would this be valuable?

  • When a new team is formed or a change occurs in the formation of an existing team such as a change in leadership, or team members
  • With a team looking for a significant step forward in performance. A need to drive the business to new levels.
  • When facing a significant challenge in your business such as a change in products, competition or the market place.
  • As a way to generate new and creative thinking in the team.
  • To support a major change programme to gain “buy in” and sustainability.
